Ground Water

Overview

Groundwater is water underground in saturated zones beneath the land surface. When it rains, the water moves through the surface soil until it gets deep underground. Groundwater contamination occurs when man-made products get into the groundwater and cause it to become unsafe and unfit for human use. Contaminants from the land’s surface can move through the soil and end up in the groundwater.
